Q and A with Marta Lisiecka, Lettings Valuer

Tell us a bit about your background?

After completing my BA in Architecture, I decided to transition into estate agency, which led me to join a small independent company in South West London.  I spent over four years there, gaining extensive knowledge across lettings, property management, and property law.  This foundational experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the real estate industrySeeking new challenges and opportunities, I joined Go View London to further develop my career.

When did you start at Go View London and how has your position evolved in that time?

I started working at Go View London two years ago, joining the Acton team as a Lettings Negotiator.  In this role, I demonstrated exceptional customer service to both our landlords and tenants and quickly became one of the top performers in lettings.  My hard work and dedication were recognized, and I was promoted to Lettings Valuer.  In this position, I ensure that our landlords receive the best service, from accurately valuing their properties and guiding them through the rental process to finding suitable tenants.

What do you like about your role and working in estate agency?

What I enjoy most about my job is the variety and dynamism it offers.  No two days are the same; even though it’s partly an office job, each day brings new challenges and opportunities.  I love being out of the office, meeting people, and helping them make important decisions about their homes.  The role combines my passion for architecture with my interest in real estate, allowing me to utilise my background while engaging in a people-oriented profession.  Additionally, seeing the satisfaction on people’sfaces when they find their ideal home is incredibly rewarding.

What have you learned during your time in estate agency?

During my time in estate agency, I’ve learned the importance of patience and active listening to understand people’s needs fully.  Meeting landlords’ expectations while finding the right tenants is crucial, and achieving market value is a significant part of the job.  I’ve also refined my negotiation skills and developed a keen eye forproperty valuation.  These experiences have not only improved my professional abilities but also my problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

What’s the current lettings market like in Acton and Ealing?

The current lettings market in Acton and Ealing is strong, with an increasing number of properties available for tenants.  Demand remains high, driven by the area’s excellent amenities, transport links, and vibrant communitiesThis competitive market environment means that properties are being let quickly.  It’s a dynamic market that requires landlords and agents to stay adaptable and responsive to trends, new legislation and tenant needs.

How can landlords ensure the best relationship possible with their tenants?

To ensure the best relationship possible with their tenants, landlords should focus on clear communication and responsiveness.  Addressing maintenance issues promptly and ensuring the property is in good condition before letting it out can prevent many potential problems. Establishing mutual respect and understanding from the beginning helps in building a positive relationship.

Where do you like to go locally in and around Acton and Ealing?

If based in the Acton office, a typical day for me starts with a cup of coffee from Churchfield Food Store.  For lunch, I often opt for a healthy option from Noco Stores on Churchfield Road.  The convenience of having everything on your doorstep in Acton and Ealing is fantastic.

There are a super range of day-to-day options for fitness and socialising in the area, with some picturesque strolls too.   The events and festivals at the local parks are wonderful too and help make Acton and Ealing such wonderful places to live and work.
