Meet Katie Moore, our Senior Lettings Negotiator

Tell us a bit about your background?

I grew up on the outskirts of west London. After completing my A-Levels in Business, Sociology, and Philosophy, I wasn’t entirely sure what direction to take with my career.  I stumbled into estate agency when I started working a Saturday job doing property viewings for a local agent.   At the time, it was just something to gain some experience, but I quickly realised I enjoyed it—particularly the interaction with clients and the satisfaction of helping people find a home.

After six months, I was offered a full-time position as a Lettings Negotiator, which helped me learn the ins and outs of the lettings industry.  A year and a half later, I wanted to push myself further and be closer to London, so I joined Go View London.

When did you start at Go View London, and how has your position evolved in that time?

I started at Go View London in November 2022 as a senior lettings negotiator. From the start, I was focused on building relationships with clients and securing the right matches between tenants and landlords.  Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to expand my role, and more recently, I’ve started participating in property valuations.  This is an exciting step for me because valuations offer a different aspect of the industry, where I get to understand the market at a deeper level and help clients from the very beginning of the process.

What do you like about your role and working in estate agency?

What I love most about my role is the people side of things.  I’ve always enjoyed talking on the phone and building relationships with clients, but working in lettings, you become someone that people come back to because they trust you.  It’s rewarding when landlords or tenants reach out because they’ve had a great experience in the past and want to work with you again.  On top of that, there’s the satisfaction of helping people find their perfect homes. Whether it’s a tenant excited about their new place or a landlord finding the right match for their property, being part of that process feels meaningful.

What tips would you give someone looking for a rental property?

One of the best tips I can give is to view as many properties as possible, even if you’re not entirely sure about some of them.  The more you see, the better sense you get of what’s important to you. Sometimes, it’s easy to think you know exactly what you want, but once you start viewing different properties, you might realise other factors are more significant—like location, room size, or even things like the layout.  Viewing various properties also gives you a better understanding of pricing in different areas, so you can be more confident when making decisions.

How can landlords ensure the best relationship possible with their tenants?

I think the foundation of a good landlord-tenant relationship is transparency and responsiveness. Landlords should be upfront about all the details of the tenancy from the start, whether it’s the condition of the property, expectations around maintenance, or rent terms.  This kind of clarity builds trust, which is essential for a smooth tenancy.  Also, being responsive to tenants’ needs is crucial.  If issues arise, addressing them promptly can make a huge difference in how the tenant feels about the property and the relationship overall.  At the end of the day, both parties want the tenancy to go smoothly, so clear communication and respect on both sides really goes a long way.

What are some great spots in Acton and Ealing that are worth a visit?

One of my favourite places in the area has to be TaKe in Ealing Common:  the sushi is amazing, and the atmosphere is great.

For being outdoors, a lovely spot is Walpole Park: it’s a beautiful place to take a walk and enjoy some fresh air.
